Seller guide

Becoming a Collect Sisu host takes about 30 minutes from sign-up to your first published listing. Here’s the path.

1. Sign up & verify

Create an account with Google, Apple, or email. Verify your email when you get the confirmation message — unverified accounts can’t publish listings.

2. Set up payouts

Go to Account → Payouts and click “Start onboarding.” This opens Stripe Express, which will ask for:

  • Your legal name and date of birth
  • SSN or EIN (for tax reporting on payouts over $600/year)
  • A US bank account for deposits
  • A government-issued ID upload

Stripe usually verifies in minutes. You can list before this is done, but you can’t accept bookings until payouts are active.

3. Create your first listing

From your account, hit New listing. Pick a type:

  • Rental — physical inventory you rent out by the day (tables, chairs, lights)
  • Service — what you do at events (catering, photography, DJ)
  • Bundle — a curated set of items priced as a package

Give it a clear name, then we’ll walk you through the rest.

4. Fill in the details

The edit page has collapsible sections. Aim to fill in at least:

  • Photos — 6+ bright, in-context shots
  • Description — honest, scannable, lead with the value
  • Pricing — daily rate (rentals) or basis (services)
  • Cancellation policy — pick the tier that fits your business
  • Location — at minimum a city; lat/lng helps with distance search
  • Delivery options — pickup, delivery, setup

5. Publish

The form has a “ready to publish” checklist showing what’s required. Once green, hit Publish. Your listing appears in search and becomes bookable.

6. Respond fast

The single biggest predictor of booking conversion is how fast you respond to booking requests. Aim for under an hour during business hours. The system gives you 24 hours before a request auto-expires.

Tips that move the needle

  • Photo quality. Bright, in-context shots beat studio shots. Show the gear at a real event.
  • Specific names. “6-foot rectangular folding tables (set of 10)” beats “Tables.”
  • Realistic pricing. Browse comparable listings before setting yours.
  • Honest condition. Show wear. The first damage claim from a misled guest hurts your account standing.
  • Real availability. Block dates promptly via Account → Availability.
